By Train:

Karlsruhe servs as a central hub for numerous train connections, with 130 long-distance trains daily. Located on the ICE route from Hamburg to Basel, it marks the starting point of the west-east axis to Munich. The main train station, situated in the southern center, is well-connected to major German and European cities.

The primary railway station in Karlsruhe is situated in the southern center of the city, across from the Karlsruhe Zoological Gardens. Exiting through the main exit leads you to the station forecourt, where you can find both a taxi stand and all streetcar stops.

By car:

Traveling to Karlsruhe by car is flexible, with the A5, A8, and A65 highways intersecting in the city. Take the Karlsruhe-Mitte exit from the A5 or A8, leading to the Südtangente/B10 towards the city center. The A65, coming from Ludwigshafen-Landau-Wörth am Rhein, merges into the Südtangente/B10 towards Karlsruhe.

Airplane:

Karlsruhe is accessible via Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden airport, as well as Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Strasbourg airports. Shuttle service from Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden airport takes approximately 30 minutes. Board KVV bus line 285 to reach Baden-Baden station, or opt for bus lines X34 and 234 for Rastatt station. Connecting from Baden-Baden, take S-Bahn line S7 or Deutsche Bahn regional trains. Similarly, from Rastatt, S-Bahn lines S7, S71, and S81 provide direct access to Karlsruhe main station.

Onward journey to the venue: KIT Campus Süd

Arrival by car: The KIT Campus Süd is located in the city center of Karlsruhe and has excellent access to the highway network. Enter the following address for navigation devices: Adenauerring 7. Please note that there are no guest parking facilities on the KIT premises. Free parking is available at the Waldparkplatz, Adenauerring 20, 76131 Karlsruhe (approximately 1.2 km walking distance, 15 minutes to the lecture hall building), and paid parking is offered at the Parkgarage Schlossplatz, Schlossplatz 16, 76131 Karlsruhe (approximately 600m walking distance, 7 minutes to the lecture hall building).

Coming from North: Frankfurt and Heidelberg (A5)

  • Exit the motorway A5 (direction Karlsruhe/Basel) at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road (Durlacher Allee), and then turn to the right (Adenauerring).
  • After a short distance you reach the main entrance on the left.

Coming from Northwest: Köln und Koblenz (A61)

  • Follow the motorway A61 until you reach the A5 (direction Karlsruhe/Basel)
  • Exit the motorway A5 at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road (Durlacher Allee), then turn to the right (Adenauerring).
  • After a short distance you will reach the main entrance on the left.

Coming from East: Munich and Stuttgart (A8)

  • Follow the motorway A8 direction Karlsruhe until you reach the junction Karlsruhe.
  • Proceed to the motorway A5 to Frankfurt.
  • Exit the motorway A5 at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road (Durlacher Allee), then turn to the right (Adenauerring).
  • After a short distance you will reach the main entrance on the left.

Coming from South: Basel and Freiburg (A5)

  • Exit the motorway A5 direction Frankfurt at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit.
  • Continue towards Karlsruhe (first exit).
  • Follow the four-lane road  (Durlacher Allee), then turn to the right (Adenauerring).
  • After a short distance you will reach the main entrance on the left.

By Public Transport

From Karlsruhe main station, take S-Bahn lines S4, S7, S8, or streetcar lines 2 and 3 to Durlacher Tor/KIT-Campus Süd stop. Walk approximately 7 minutes (500m) to the Audimax.
